TaosNet Announces support for
Kit Carson Electric Cooperative Broadband Stimulus Funds

TaosNet supports Kit Carson Electric Cooperative's (KCEC) application for federal government Broadband Stimulus Funds. Their application contains multiple projects that will primarily fund the beginnings of the build out of fiber optics in the KCEC service area. In discussions with Luis A. Reyes, Jr., CEO of KCEC, TaosNet has an understanding and commitment that KCEC will "will comply with federal and stimulus guidelines" for an Open Access Network. This requirement of the federal government and KCEC implementation of this policy will provide end users with a service provider choice.

This commitment as stated by Mr. Reyes provides for "creating a true open and transparent network with no favoritism to any service provider including ourselves."
